BASF participará en la ICUP

Los próximos 27, 28 y 29 de junio se celebrará en Barcelona, la 10ª edición de la Conferencia Internacional para el Control de Plagas (ICUP, International Conference on Urban Pests). Se trata de un encuentro de gran relevancia donde profesionales de la industria del control profesional de plagas de todo el mundo se reunirán y compartirán ideas e investigaciones sobre el control de plagas en las zonas urbanas.

Durante el primer día, se dedicarán varias sesiones a hablar sobre la globalización como uno de los impulsores más relevantes de las invasiones de plagas en todo el mundo y la necesidad de un buen manejo para prevenirlas.

Los siguientes días se discutirá sobre los factores para diseñar e implementar programas eficientes de manejo de plagas urbanas, y se expondrán los impactos que tienen en la sociedad los diferentes tipos de plagas.

En la última jornada se abrirá un foro para el intercambio de ideas técnicas y científicas entre los profesionales que trabajan con plagas urbanas.

Por parte de BASF, Chuck Klein, Senior Global Development Manager y Sharon Huges, Global Technical Marketing Manager – Rodenticidas, expondrán varios temas durante las diferentes jornadas:

Chuck Klein presentará la "Variación en la alimentación y los Efectos Ambientales en la Susceptibilidad de los chinches de cama del Insecticida Phantom®” (clorfenapir), comercializado bajo la marca Mythic^® SC en España.

• Fecha: martes 28 de junio
• Sesión Paralela 2

Sharon Hughes impartirá tres presentaciones el 28 de junio:

• La primera presentación, sobre Rodenticidas, será durante el taller de la Sesión 2: La alternativa no anticoagulante del colecalciferol.
• La segunda presentación será durante la Sesión Paralela 6 sobre la Evaluación de trampas para el control de ratas pardas (Rattus norvergicus). Es decir, un método de control no químico.
• La tercera presentación también será durante la Sesión Paralela 6 y tratará sobre el Cebo rodenticida en base a colecalciferol

Posteriormente ese mismo día 28 de junio, durante la sesión deposters, Sharon presentará el colecalciferol como cebo rodenticida innovador.

Otros miembros del equipo de BASF participarán en las distintas jornadas. Entre ellos, Doug Brown, (Global Key Account Manager), Maribel Tomás (Marketing Manager), Gino Roetti (Product Manager) y Toni Molina (Business Manager Iberia).

BASF will participate at the International Conference on Urban Pests

The 10th edition of the International Conference on Urban Pests (ICUP) will take place in Barcelona on the 27, 28 and 29 June 2022. It is a relevant meeting where worldwide professionals from academia, industry, government, and the pest control industry will assemble and share research and ideas for urban pest control.

During the first day, several sessions will be dedicated to talking about Globalization as one of the most important drivers of pest invasions worldwide and the need for good preventative pest management measures.

In the following days, the discussions will be on the factors required to design and implement efficient urban pest management programs and the different types of pests and the impacts they have on society. On the last day, a forum will be opened for the exchange of technical and scientific ideas among professionals who work with urban pests.

On behalf of BASF, Chuck Klein, Senior Global Development Manager, and Sharon Hughes, Global Technical Marketing Manager – Rodenticides, will participate by giving presentations during the different days. In addition, several colleagues from BASF will also attend the big event.

Sharon Hughes will give three presentations, all taking place on June 28.

• The first presentation will be during Session 2 workshop, on Rodenticides - the non-anticoagulant alternative cholecalciferol.
• The second presentation will be during the Parallel Session 6 on the evaluation of snap-traps for Brown rat control (i.e., a non-chemical control method).
• The third presentation will also be during the Parallel Session 6 on Development of an innovative cholecalciferol rodenticide bait

Also, later that day during the poster session, Sharon will present on cholecalciferol as an innovative rodenticide bait.

Other members of the BASF team will participate in the different sessions. Among them, Doug Brown, (Global Key Account Manager), Maribel Tomás (Marketing Manager), Gino Roetti (Product Manager) and Toni Molina (Business Manager Iberia).
